Congratulations “Fire Up Your Feet” Spring Challenge Winners!

Young Oak Kim Academy in Los Angeles took home the top prize in Southern California, earning $5,200 for logging the most physical activity during the month-long challenge.

Thirty-one schools across Southern California took the “Fire Up Your Feet” Spring Challenge this May, committing to improve their total health and earning cash awards along the way.

The top prize of $5,200 was awarded to Young Oak Kim Academy in Los Angeles for logging the most physical activity during the month-long challenge.

Schools that participated in the Fire Up Your Feet spring 2015 challenge were eligible to win awards in several categories, including overall participation, weekly activity tracking numbers, bicycling, and walking. In all, Kaiser Permanente awarded more than $90,000 to participating K-8 schools across the country.

Fire Up Your Feet is a part of Kaiser Permanente’s Thriving Schools Initiative (thrivingschools.kp.org), a partnership with leading national organizations aimed at creating a culture of health in our communities through collaboration and resource sharing.  The program seeks to unite the school community around the shared goal of healthy minds and bodies.

The next Activity Challenge will take place October 1-31, 2015 and is open to any K-8 public, private or charter school in Southern California. To learn more, including how to sign up, visit fireupyourfeet.org
