Empowering Kids to Develop Healthy, Lifelong Habits

Posted on

As part of Thriving Schools, Kaiser Permanente is working with Alliance for a Healthier Generation to empower children to develop healthy, lifelong habits. Of the 461 schools named among the 2018 “America's Healthiest Schools,” 67 schools came from the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), setting the record for the Healthier Generation’s annual award.

The district’s achievement is no small feat. As the second largest school system in the country, LAUSD works diligently to overcome the various challenges of supporting approximately 600,000 students at more than 1,000 schools.

To see how LAUSD schools – such as Harry Bridges Span School in Wilmington – are helping kids develop valuable habits in exercise, nutrition, and education to help ensure the best quality of life possible, check out this video.
