Working together to build a healthier community for all of us.

Kaiser Permanente believes when we collaborate and support each other, our work improves the quality of health and life in our communities.

We are dedicated to total health of body, mind, and spirit, and we pursue efforts that broaden access to the highest quality care for people when they need it. We believe all of us deserve to live healthy lives in our homes, our workplaces, and our neighborhoods. That’s why, for more than 70 years, we have worked to improve the health of our members and the communities we serve.

We accomplish this work in countless ways, from funding knowledge and resource sharing programs that address health disparities to providing assistance with health care costs to people in need. Our commitment is exhibited in the many ways we reach out and work with others to build a healthy future for all.

There are moments that inspire. Moments that touch your heart, open your eyes or inspire action. Often a single moment can achieve all three.

Moments like these happen all the time throughout our programs and countless others like them. If you come across one of these moments, please share it here. It may just be the spark that inspires one more person to get involved.

West LA Med Center Honors Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Kaiser Permanente employees from the West Los Angeles medical center volunteered their time and talents at the Hillcrest Drive Elementary School in Los Angeles to help honor, celebrate, and commemorate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Employees from throughout the organization came out and performed much-needed tasks around the school, including cleaning, gardening, painting, and minor construction projects.

Everyone's hard work helped to improve the school's appearance which will help create an environment that is much more conducive to learning for the children. Hillcrest Drive Elementary School's principal, Elizabeth I. Pratt, expressed her excitement and gratitude and said,  "We work hard year-round to ensure that students have a safe and healthy learning environment, and we are so grateful for the support that Kaiser Permanente volunteers have committed to providing, to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.".

Employees also demonstrated their commitment to the local communities by participating in a two-day Diaper Drive benefitting the Westside Food Bank. Employees donated more than 2500 diapers, almost 1500 wipes, and 40 packages of baby food.

These activities underscore Kaiser Permanente’s long-standing commitment to both diversity and community benefit, while also providing a unique opportunity for us to help improve our schools and reach out to some of the communities' most vulnerable residents.
