The Safety Net

Program Description

As part of its commitment to total health, Kaiser Permanente Southern California believes in access to health care for every person. To reduce disparities in health care and in keeping with our mission to improve the health of the communities we serve, Kaiser Permanente Southern California provides support for community clinics, public hospitals, and local health departments. This network of providers – the safety net – offers health care for Southern Californians who have little or no access to care.

Kaiser Permanente supports safety net providers with community benefit grants and other contributions – from capital investments that help build, renovate, and equip existing facilities, to workforce development grants that enable the addition of staff and training. Other grants empower safety net partners to broaden their scope of services. The goal is to provide comprehensive health services in a single location where an individual can receive a full range of care.

This essential funding facilitates our partners’ ability to provide access to care so that more people can get the right care at the right time in the right place.
