Community Fights for its Park

Kaiser Permanente saw this opportunity to partner with the Trust for Public Land and turn an unused patch of ground into a positive solution for community health.

Everyone deserves a park where children and adults can safely play and exercise.  Kaiser Permanente saw this opportunity to partner with the Trust for Public Land as a way to turn an unused patch of ground into a productive, positive solution for community health -- the new Monitor Avenue Park.  Since 2003, we’ve partnered with the Trust to create projects here in Los Angeles and have provided more than a million dollars in support.  Kaiser Permanente partnered with the Trust for Public Land to launch the first Fitness Zone exercise equipment in parks in 2008.  There are now more than 30 fitness zones in Los Angeles County parks, and other supporters are jumping on board to contribute.

We share a common vision with the Trust for Public Land: To ensure everyone has easy access to a park, playground, or natural area. Healthy people populate healthy communities. We look forward to continuing to create spaces for people to play, exercise and relax.
